Organised chaos...

These are some recent photos of my workspace. It can get quite chaotic... but it's my own little space to bimble : )

Look what the postman brought today!!

Hurrah! I have just bought a 1940's child's mangle from Ebay! It was £30 and I'm really hoping that my Father in Law will be able to tinker with it enough to enable me to use it as a mini prnting press. I've seen it done by printmaker Ed Boxall http://edboxall.co.uk/2011/06/24/my-new-mangle-printing-press/ so I'm hoping it might be worth a go. At the moment I use a wooden spoon and elbow grease to transfer my designs onto paper. I've always dreamed of having a printing press so fingers crossed this will work.

A new lino print I'm working on...

I live in a beautiful part of Devon with two long sandy beaches just five minutes walk away. I've just started work on a new print of Paignton Pier.

I'll try to photograph the different stages of making the print so that you can see how I'm getting on.

Here you can see the lino shapes that I have cut out. I've cut 5 separate pieces as I plan to use 5 different colours in the final print.

I have started by printing the sky using grey and then pure blue mixed with white.
Next I've added the sea in a darker blue...
                                                                           and the sand...

Here you can see I've printed the pier... just need to let it dry before I can add a mount.
